1970 April - 'Venus' - 'Pena verde'

TV Guide Intervalo started printing a new best-selling-singles list as of April 1970. Intervalo had originally published Ibope's best-selling-singles list from September 1964 to April 1969. Then it suddenly stopped printing those charts. It must have been for economic reasons as Ibope would certainly charge market-place-prices for the service. 

A year later Intervalo starts doing it again. This time the List came from a radio show on Radio Tupi called 'Grande Parada Brasil' (Brazil's Great Parade) broadcast from São Paulo every Saturday from 12:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It was produced by Waldyr Santos and compered by Enzo de Almeida Passos who linked up with 9 DJs from different radio stations around the country. They would spell out their list of 5 best-selling singles. Here are some of those lists bearing the date of the Sunday in which the week ended even though the radio show was aired on Saturdays.

Unfortunately, Intervalo stopped printing 'Grande Parada Brasil' charts on 13 September 1970. So here we have 24 weeks-worth of 1970 charts but it gives a pretty good idea what was happening then. Here is the list of Brazilian DJs who sent their best-selling list to 'Grande Parada Brasil':
